Term II
The second term centres on the experience of being a Canon Regular, providing a thorough introduction to the Liturgy of the Hours, the principal Liturgies observed within the Catholic Latin Rite, as well as an explanation of your clerical attire, including when and how it should be worn. Additionally, it covers the use and significance of various liturgical books, the proper handling and meaning of vestments, and other related aspects essential to your formation and daily practice.

Liturgy II - The CRSHJ Institute Official Altar Missal
The Canons Regular of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Institute official Missal is the modern official Roman Missal approved by the Holy See. The Holy See’s Liturgy is very well organised and we at the CRSHJ like to be organised and keep an official and reliable Source. The video you will find on the Lesson page features the modern Roman Altar Missal by one of the best publishing houses, its internal structure is similar across all editions, because each editor must seek approval by the Holy See.

Liturgy III - The Official 'Pocket' Roman Missal
Once you are familiar with the standard, large format Altar Missal, it is important you develop almost second-nature familiarity with the sometimes called Hand Missal or Chapel Missal. The general structure of the Mass is the same, no matter what book format you are using, the same is true of the liturgical seasons in the year. But because the Hand Missal is smaller in size, not only paper is thinner, the whole book is fatter and the sections within it are slightly different.

Liturgy IV - The Mass in the Latin Rite - Structure
The study of the Missal over the last two months has hopefully enlightened you about how to navigate the books, but to truly understand why the books are organised in that manner, you now must turn your attention to the structure of the Mass itself, because broadly the structure is the main reason behind the organisational design of the books. After this lesson, compare the typical structure sequence of the Mass to the sections of the books.

Liturgy IV - Eucharistic Adoration
Eucharistic Adoration is a Catholic devotion where the faithful pray before the consecrated Eucharist, believed to be the real presence of Jesus Christ. It’s a time of silent worship, reflection, and spiritual intimacy, often held in chapels with the Eucharist displayed in a monstrance. This practice deepens faith, fosters inner peace, and invites personal transformation through quiet communion with Christ.

Liturgy IV - Vestments I
Catholic Liturgy requires proper attire. These are the vestments, which are made in high quality fabrics and manufactured with high quality standards, because they are meant to be in service for decades, sometimes even for centuries. A vestment is an [in]vestment, it must be high quality, very durable and appropriate to the time, season or occasion. This lesson focuses on vestments and clerical attire outside of the Liturgy and explains the rules you are expected to follow.

Canons Regular - Clerical Attire I
The CRSHJ - Canons Regular of the Sacred Heart of Jesus’ clerical attire - aka dress code - rules must be adhered to at all times whenever your activities involve the public image of the CRSHJ Institute. Though the CRSHJ follow broadly the Latin Rite, there are specific rules on how this is achieved, i.e., how we as a Community dispersed geographically endeavour to apply dress code rules sensibly and in a balanced way.

Reflecting Upon Your Journey
You have come this far, well done. Now it is the right time to reflect on your 12-month journey. This is the moment when you should be able to answer these two questions… Whom am I?… Who and what are really the Canons Regular of the Sacred Heart of Jesus?…
