Application Form
Watch a short one and half minute introduction.
ADDRESS:
Please make sure your postal address is complete and correct.
DISCERNMENT:
Some applicants are not sure, that being the reason they wish to discern deeper their vocational calling. It is Okay to have doubts, but normally, if you are just discovering your calling for the very first time, choose to join as a Lay Brother, or choose Not sure.
EDUCATION:
What is the highest point you achieved during your time as a student? This is the last school, academy, college or university you attended.
WORK & PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITY:
All members of the CRSHJ Institute are “Oratorians”, and follow a model inspired by St. Philip Neri. However, unlike other religious, they live fully integrated in civil society. If they are married, (or single but prefer to live alone), they live with their family in a house or apartment and it is there they keep their Oratory. This is called ‘In domibus propriis’. If they are single, but prefer to share a house or apartment, they live in a community. This is called ‘In communitas’. If they are still studying and are single, they usually live with their parents and typically are Lay Brothers. But what all have in common (except the students) is that they all have a secular job in addition to their Pastoral Ministry. This applies to adult, older Lay Brothers, or Vowed Brothers, or Canons Regular who are ordained priests.
CRIMINAL RECORDS:
What may have happened in the past does not necessarily determine your future. But that does not equate to a failure to disclose if you have ever been involved in wrongdoing that may have resulted in a Criminal Record set against you. The first thing that is required of you is complete honesty, so we want you to tell us if anything happened in your past that led to a conviction or sentence, or even a simple Police Caution or Police Order, for example. You must disclose any and all instances, by putting a mark on any relevant checkboxes in the form and then give details, your version of events, in the textbox below.
If there is anything you need to disclose, do it in the form and we can have a conversation about it later on in the application process. We know life is not perfect and it is important you share with us details so we can fully understand any situation you may have been involved in the past.
REFERENCES:
We need you to provide 3 references and yes, we do check all references carefully. Please keep in mind that:
Reference 1 should come from a Parish priest who knows you well,
Reference 2 should come from either another priest who may know you well, or your Seminary if you have been to the Seminary before, or a teacher who knows you well.
Reference 3 is a CHARACTER Reference and may come from any suitable source but must NOT come from a family member, or a relative.
So, choose your references carefully and honestly. False references may lead to disqualification of your application.
