  • Book cover titled 'Theology for Beginners' by Frank Sheed, published by Ignatius, featuring an illustration of Jesus with disciples at a table, with a stained glass window in the background.

    Theology for Beginners

In THEOLOGY FOR BEGINNERS, Frank Sheed, renowned Catholic writer and apologist, offers clear, insightful explanations of key Christian doctrines. He begins by urging the study of theology and its rewards. Covering God's nature, creation, the Trinity, the Fall, Incarnation, Redemption, the Mystical Body, Grace, Sacraments, and the Last Things, Sheed presents complex truths with clarity and reason, inspiring deeper understanding of spiritual realities central to life.

  • Book cover titled 'God Is Near Us' by Joseph Cardinal Ratzinger with a painting of Jesus holding a host in one hand and a chalice on the table in front.

    God Is Near Us

In GOD IS NEAR US the Eucharist stands at the center of this book by Cardinal Ratzinger. He compellingly shows us the biblical, historical, and theological dimensions of the Eucharist. The Cardinal draws far-reaching conclusions, focusing on the importance of one's personal devotion to and adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, for the personal reception of Communion by the individual Christian, as well as for the life of the Church. For Ratzinger, any transformation of the world on the social plane grows out of the celebration of the Eucharist. He beautifully illustrates how the omnipotent God comes intimately close to us in the Holy Eucharist, the Heart of Life.

  • Book cover for 'This is My Body: A Call to Eucharistic Revival' by Bishop Robert Barron. The cover features a classical painting of Jesus and his disciples at the Last Supper, with large white cursive text overlay.

    This Is My Body

A Pew Forum survey found 69% of Catholics don’t believe in the Real Presence of Christ in the Eucharist, viewing it only as a symbol and the Mass as a social gathering. This spiritual crisis threatens the core of Christian life, as the Eucharist is “the source and summit” of faith. In response, Bishop Robert Barron helped initiate the National Eucharistic Revival. His book, THIS IS MY BODY - A CALL TO EUCARISTIC REVIVAL, explains the Eucharist as sacred meal, sacrifice, and Real Presence, inviting readers to deepen their love for Christ through understanding His true presence in the sacrament.

  • Book cover titled 'The Transfiguration of Christ: An Exegetical and Theological Reading' by Patrick Schreiner. The cover features a religious fresco of the Transfiguration of Christ, with Jesus in the center surrounded by a glowing halo, flanked by two apostles on either side.

    The Transfiguration of Christ

All three Synoptic Gospels recount Jesus's transfiguration, yet its significance is often misunderstood. Patrick Schreiner offers a clear study highlighting its theological meaning and practical application. The event reveals Jesus's double sonship—his preexistent glory as the eternal Son and future glory as the suffering Messiah—and points to believers' own transformation. In THE TRANSFIGURATION OF CHRIST, Schreiner uses Scripture, along with hermeneutical, trinitarian, and christological insights, to deepen the understanding and challenge modern interpretations.

  • Book cover titled "Christian Philosophy" by Craig G. Bartholomew and Michael W. Goheen, featuring a grayscale portrait of a woman and a background of ocean waves.

    Christian Philosophy, Systematic Narrative Introduction

Christian Philosophy - Systematic Narrative Introduction by Craig Bartholomew and Michael Goheen, building on their earlier works, offers a comprehensive Christian perspective on philosophy. It explores Scripture, worldview, theology, and philosophy, tracing philosophical thought from ancient Greece to postmodernism, providing historical context and Christian critique. The book emphasizes the Reformed tradition while addressing other trajectories and their relevance today.

  • The cover of the book titled "A Philosophy of the Christian Religion" by Nancey Murphy features abstract, distorted, marble-like patterns with a color palette of blues, whites, and black, arranged in horizontal bands.

A Philosophy of the Christian Religion

A Philosophy of the Christian Religion offers a new kind of introduction to the subject. Whereas most introductions in the past have attempted to deal with religion in general, this book focuses on philosophical issues of special importance to Christianity. In doing this, Nancey Murphy also takes full account of how conceptual revolutions in philosophy now mean that what older introductions termed 'standard problems' have changed from the way they were dealt with in earlier eras.
At the same time, this new introduction helps the reader to better understand how contemporary issues have come to take on their current force by placing them within the context of the most sophisticated account available of human reason: Alasdair MacIntyre’s tradition-constituted rationality.

The Crucifixion, Understanding the Death of Jesus Christ

Though Paul boldly proclaimed "Christ crucified" as the gospel's heart, in THE CRUCIFIXION…, Fleming Rutledge notes most churches today neglect preaching the cross. Rutledge addresses why pastors speak of the cross only vaguely, limiting full gospel understanding. She explores New Testament themes explaining the cross's meaning, draws on Church Fathers, scholastics, Reformers, and recent scholarship, and applies these to today. Known for her preaching, Rutledge aims to inspire preachers and believers to grasp Christianity's central event.

  • Cover of the book titled 'The Case for Jesus' by Brant Pitre, featuring a painting of Jesus Christ showing a wound on his side, surrounded by several men.

The Case for Jesus: The Biblical and Historical Evidence for Christ

For well over a hundred years now, many scholars have questioned the historical truth of the Gospels, claiming that they were originally anonymous. Others have even argued that Jesus of Nazareth did not think he was God and never claimed to be divine.

In The Case for Jesus, Dr. Brant Pitre, the bestselling author of Jesus and the Jewish Roots of the Eucharist, goes back to the sources—the biblical and historical evidence for Christ—in order to answer several key questions, including:

Were the four Gospels really anonymous?… Are the Gospels folklore? Or are they biographies?… Were the four Gospels written too late to be reliable?… What about the so-called “Lost Gospels,” such as “Q” and the Gospel of Thomas?… Did Jesus claim to be God?… Is Jesus divine in all four Gospels? Or only in John?… Did Jesus fulfill the Jewish prophecies of the Messiah?… Why was Jesus crucified?… What is the evidence for the Resurrection?…

As The Case for Jesus will show, recent discoveries in New Testament scholarship, as well as neglected evidence from ancient manuscripts and the early church fathers, together have the potential to pull the rug out from under a century of skepticism toward the traditional Gospels. Above all, Pitre shows how the divine claims of Jesus of Nazareth can only be understood by putting them in their ancient Jewish context.

In Sinu Jesu: The Journal of a Benedictine Monk

In 2007, Our Lord and Our Lady began to speak to the heart of a monk in the silence of adoration. He was prompted to write down what he received, and thus was born In Sinu Jesu, whose pages shine with an intense luminosity and heart-warming fervor that speaks directly to the inner and outer needs of our time with a unique power to console and challenge.

The pages of this remarkable record of spiritual communication range across, and plunge into, many fundamental aspects of the spiritual life: loving and being loved by God; the practice of prayer in all its dimensions; the unique power of Eucharistic adoration; trustful surrender to divine providence; the homage of silence; the dignity of liturgical prayer and the sacraments; the mystery of the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass; priestly identity and apostolic fruitfulness; the role of the Blessed Virgin Mary and the saints in our lives; sin, woundedness, mercy, healing, and purification; the longing for heaven and the longed-for renewal of the Catholic Church on earth.

Given the harmony of its content with the teaching of Sacred Scripture, Catholic Tradition, and well-known works of the mystics, it is eminently fitting that In Sinu Jesu be published in full at this time (it has been granted the imprimatur). Passages from this journal have already influenced the spiritual lives of priests, religious, and laymen—may it now give light and warmth, consolation and renewed conviction, to readers throughout the world.

  • Book cover titled 'A Thoroughly Christian Study of Homosexuality' by Steven Longstone Ph.D., featuring a black background and a rainbow-colored cross made of intersecting colored lines.

A Thoroughly Christian Study of Homosexuality

A growing number of Christians, of all denominational stripes, have important questions about homosexuality that are mostly going unanswered in the ongoing church debate. Why would God create someone with same-sex attraction only to condemn them for it? Is poor parenting or spiritual rebellion really the reason why some people are gay or transgender? Is it Christ-like to shun and actively discriminate against gays in our communities?

A Thoroughly Christian Study of Homosexuality presents a 360-degree view of the subject. In addition to being a detailed Bible study, it provides a wealth of other relevant information: the latest science of same-sex attraction; the persecution faced by gays around the world; the plight of gay young people in today’s churches; and the central theological dilemma of homosexuality.

The goal of A Thoroughly Christian Study of Homosexuality is to encourage Christians to make an informed, Spirit-led decision about homosexuality. With thoughtful questions at the end of each chapter, it can be used for both individual and group study.

  • Book cover of 'Summa Theologica' by Thomas Aquinas featuring a traditional religious depiction of Jesus on the cross with saints in the background, title in large red text, and additional information indicating it is an unabridged edition in a single volume.

Summa Theologica Complete in a Single Volume by Thomas Aquinas

The Summa Theologica is a compendium of theology written by Thomas Aquinas between 1265 and 1273. In Roman Catholicism it is the sum of all known learning and doctrine, of all that can be known about God and humanity’s relations with God — a landmark in the history of theology that famously offers five proofs of God’s existence, the first three of which are cosmological arguments; the fourth, a moral argument; and the fifth, a teleological argument.

The third quarter of the thirteenth century marked the first decisive philosophical encounter between Hellenism and Christianity. The rediscovery of Aristotle’s works after the Dark Ages ushered in a new era of intellectual fervor in Europe, and the work of Thomas Aquinas is a commentary on Aristotle, whose writings were lost to the non-Arabic world until the beginning of the Thirteenth Century. To many, Aristotle’s worldview was a pagan threat to Christianity. To Aquinas, it provided an exciting cosmological framework on which to build an all-encompassing Christian worldview.

His thoughts unfolding with a calmness of order and an assurance of judgment, Aquinas explores in the Summa the primary role of the senses in the acquisition of knowledge and the metaphysical analysis of things in terms of matter and form. But unlike Aristotle’s “God,” who did not care one whit about the world, the God of Christianity, insisted Aquinas, is a personal God. Like Aristotle, Aquinas believed that each human being has a soul and that all created things have a purpose. For Christians, all are part of a divine plan.

This dazzling synthesis of Catholic doctrine has had a profound impact on Christian thinking since the thirteenth century and has become the de facto official teaching of the Catholic Church — the intellectual underpinning of the Church to this day.

Storey has carefully translated many ancient prayer sources, which heretofore have been unavailable to lay Catholics.

The Many Paths of the Independent Sacramental Movement

The Many Paths of the Independent Sacramental Movement:

The Catholic Church is much more than the Roman Catholics. The Orthodox Church is more than the sects from Greece, Russia, Africa, and Syria. What are these independent churches? Explore the independent denominations and their adherents, who long for the sacraments but have been alienated by intransigent dogma and cookie-cutter churches. In this book, Dr. John Plummer explores the sacramental churches that are beyond and above and below the mainstream. Some are arch-conservative, while others are completely New Age. In this rich tapestry of churches you will find mystical schools, esoteric, and occult teachings. You will meet gay priests and bishops, and female priests and bishops. These paths less walked include liturgies reminiscent of simpler times, and a few that blow right past any limit or tradition. Each offers hope and worship, not for a "melting pot" of mass-market religion, but for those who hold fast to their individuality.

  • Book cover titled "A Catechism of the Liberal Catholic Church" by Archbishop Wynn Wagner, fourth edition, with a purple background and a black silhouette of an angel or winged figure reading a book.

A Catechism of the Liberal Catholic Church

A Catechism of the Liberal Catholic Church:

This is the fourth edition of Archbishop Wynn Wagner’s Liberal Catholic Catechism. The first edition was published when he was a rookie priest with Holy Water behind the ears. Now comes an update from Wynn as a lah-dee-dah my-incense-don't-even-stink archbishop. And yet it still works as an easy-to-read introduction to this little-known branch of the church catholic.

The Liberal Catholic Church was started in England in the early part of the 20th century, an offshoot of the Old Catholic Church of Holland. It welcomes everyone — especially sinners — and is one of the most tolerant and accepting denominations you can imagine. Straight/gay, young/old, pro-life/pro-choice. Some believe in reincarnation and ascended masters. Others come for the mysticism or healing liturgies, while many attend because of the stately beauty of the Liberal Catholic liturgy. The amazing thing is that the Liberal Rite works for all of them. It is authentically traditional, yet surprisingly modern.

The archbishop introduces you to the major concepts of the Rite, from the simple to the esoteric. The Liberal Catholic Church is one of the most dynamic groups of independent Catholics in history. You are in for a real treat with A CATECHISM OF THE LIBERAL CATHOLIC CHURCH.

  • Book cover titled "Apostolic Succession" with subtext "Episcopal Formation Textbook Series" and a close-up image of a gold into statue of a religious figure. Author name: The Rt. Rev. Christopher Bryant, PhD.

    Apostolic Succession

    Apostolic Succession:

Explore the the profound theological implications of apostolic succession with this in-depth study examining the foundations and historical development of this pivotal concept.

Apostolic succession, the unbroken lineage of bishops extending back to the original apostles, has profoundly shaped Christian identity since the church's inception. In this comprehensive book, Rt. Rev. Christopher Bryant traces the origins of apostolic succession from biblical antecedents through extensive analysis of the Church Fathers' writings.

Delving into the multifaceted nature of apostolic succession, Bryant outlines its various types, including succession of the hand (tactile succession), succession of the chair (occupying the apostolic seat), and doctrinal succession (preserving the apostolic teachings). He illuminates succession's vital role as a mark of apostolicity and a safeguard against heresy in the early church.

Exploring apostolic succession's purpose, the book reveals how this lineage of ordained leaders preserves the transmission of authority, church doctrine, sacramental grace, and the "chain of custody" of the apostolic heritage. Apostolic succession emerges as the backbone providing continuity, unity and mission across centuries of Christian history.

Shifting to modern issues, Bryant engages key tensions between Protestant ordination and Catholic Holy Orders. He offers balanced perspective on succession's validity in independent churches, drawing insights from Eastern and Western theology. • Book cover titled "The Complete Infidel's Guide to the Koran" by Robert Spencer, featuring icons with symbols crossed out, including a pig, a bomb, a beer bottle, people, and a cross or star of David, with decorative borders at the top and bottom.

The Complete Infidel's Guide to the Koran

The Complete Infidel’s Guide to the Koran exposes how the Koran incites hatred and violence and is anti-democratic, anti-freedom, and aggressively intolerant of any other faith, religion, philosophy or ideology. Stripping out the obsolete debate, The Complete Infidel’s Guide to the Koran focuses on the decrees toward Jews and Christians, how they were viewed by Muhammad, what “the infidels” have done wrong and what the Koran has in store for them.

The Complete Infidel’s Guide to the Koran is the essential primer to comprehending one of the most cryptic and misunderstood religious texts. Robert Spencer sheds light on the violence inherent in the Koran and reveals the frightening implications for the War on Terror, the U.S. and the world.

In The Complete Infidel’s Guide to the Koran you will learn:

The true meaning of celebrated and seemingly benign verses, such as “Strive in the way of Allah” and “Persecution is worse than slaughter”

How the Koran sanctions domestic abuse, honor killing, and murder

How the Koran not only discourages Infidels from reading it, but mandates that they don’t even touch it

Why Obama, Clinton, and others are dangerously close to supporting a multiculturalism based on an ideology that aims to destroy the principles America and Western Civilisation hold dear.
